Our Program

A Child's Garden accepts Toddlers (age 3 months by August of the school year) through Pre-K.

Schedules: The following schedules are available for all age groups.  Five days, three days, or two days,  9:00 am  to 1:00 pm, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, or full days (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). No two day schedule will be available Pre-K.

Extended Care

Early Care (7:30am-9:00am) Children may arrive as early as 7:45 for our early care group, which is a combined age setting offering self selection options and a story time.

After Care (3:00 - 5:30) Children from extended day classes may stay until 5:30.  Indoor and outdoor self-selection activities are offered.  The school provides an afternoon snack prior to 3:30 for those scheduled for after care. This is a combined age group.  Twos and younger are typically cared for separately.

Children who arrive prior to 8:55 a.m. and/or are picked up after 3:10 p.m. will be noted in early care or after care and families will be charged accordingly.

Reservations  Permanent reservations can be made in the office at the beginning of the year for children who are staying regularly on certain days (the full day rate is generally less costly for those who need more than one day per week).  Drop-in reservations may be made on a daily basis as space is available.  Forms are provided in the office for this.  Any change in an extended care reservation should be made in the office.  Children picked up after the regular class dismissal time must have extended care reservations to avoid late charges, and more importantly, confusion about why the child has not been picked up.  If your child does not stay regularly, it is important to notify the teacher in order to facilitate the transition for the child. If extended care is a regular need, we recommend that families sign-up for the full day. It is more cost effective for families and more efficient for bookkeeping purposes.

Sleeping Arrangements

All children enrolled for extended day schedules (after 1:00) are provided a cot for rest time. Each family is asked to supply a blanket if desired for the cot, which should be laundered weekly or when soiled. Nap supplies for each child are stored separately, and cots are placed at least three feet apart when in use.Interim care is available on an as needed basis when the school is closed for holidays more than one day at a time.
